Mark Sutton Vane
Mark took a degree in Architecture which gave him a useful foundation for his lighting career He then designed laser light shows and stage lighting. He has been working in architectural lighting design since 1989 and established the independent lighting consultancy Sutton Vane Associates in 1995.
Sutton Vane Associates has designed the lighting for historic, new and regeneration projects all over the world Mark wrote the lighting master plan and carried out detail designs for the Park and Public Realm of the London 2012 Olympic Park. Sutton Vane Associates has designed lighting for retail environments, museums, leisure attractions, offices and hotels. The practice has created lighting master plans for many cities, and lit many high-profile projects like the Painted Hall in Greenwich the Crown Jewels in The Tower of London and the Neuron Pod.
The practice places emphasis on sustainable lighting and attention to the needs of the client and the users. Mark believes the future of good lighting design lies in marrying these issues to public perceptions and the needs of the users.
