When a high-end cruise ship or a hotel's carpet bears the mark of having had many guests, it is often Dansk Wilton that provides the solution. And it typically takes many square meters. The choice of material is therefore of great importance when it is to be placed in a sustainability context.
That is why Dansk Wilton presents the concept ORIGIN at Design London 2021. Colortec ORIGIN is a carpet solution based on un-dyed wool yarns for use in ships, cinemas and hotels. At Design London Dansk Wilton presents an exciting rug collection based on the ORIGIN concept that is also aimed at the private housing market. The product development has taken place within the framework of the Cradle to Cradle certification as a tool, where the conditions within all five categories of the certification have been mapped and assessed; material health, material recycling, water resource management, renewable energy and social responsibility. Thus, a broad approach to sustainability has been adopted. At Design London 2021, Dansk Wilton also exhibits prototypes of materials and products that can be made from recycled carpet fibres. Used carpet is are transformed into a non-woven material of different character. The recycled material can then be used to produce pads in different thicknesses and densities.
