Debuting at Design London this year is British textile artist Lindsay Taylor, showcasing a wide range of embroidery from across a range of applications.
Specialising in unique three-dimensional embroidery, Lindsay’s work takes inspiration from the abundant beauty and untamed, intricate shapes of the natural world. Lindsay manipulates freehand machine embroidery into organic forms.
Working from her studio located at the edge of a large forest on the Isle of Wight, which is an ideal environment for any artist fascinated by the native fauna and flora that inhabit Britain’s woodland and rural landscapes. Here her textile work takes shape, weaving together rural influences from wild flowers, clambering plants, the dappled forest floor, and transforms the ordinary into unexpected objects to delight and amaze.
Lindsay has recently been working on some new embroidered creations to launch at 'Design London' including a life sized peacock. At first glance it may look like taxidermy, but this is a vegan taxidermy unlike any other!
